Launch of CAP Young Planners’ Network: Competition

In General News on July 27, 2010 at 8:39 am

The Commonwealth Association of Planners (CAP) is launching a Young Planners’ Network at its Biennial Business Meeting to be held in Montreal on October 1, 2010 just before the Canadian Institute of Planners annual conference.

The purpose of the CAP Young Planners’ Network is to connect and mobilize planning students and recently qualified professional planners. It is open to students in planning courses in the Commonwealth, those who graduated from such courses in the last 10 years and / or practicing planners under the age of 35 who are full members of an organization that is a full or affiliated member of CAP. The intention is to set up a virtual community using facebook, twitter and other web-based connections to exchange practice, better understand each other’s planning challenges, and to connect young planners directly into CAP’s work and regional conferences and into the Commonwealth more generally.

CAP will be launching this network by holding a competition with the winning entrants attending the Montreal business meeting and conference.

For details on the competition, and the CAP Young Planners’ Network, download the competition brief here, or visit CIP’s website.

Entries must be emailed to Annette.Odonnell@rtpi.org.uk to arrive by 12:00 noon British Summer Time on Monday, August 16, 2010. Results will be announced by August 27, 2010.
