1) Check out the OPPI scholarship opportunities here: http://www.ontarioplanners.on.ca/content/Awards/scholarships.aspx. Relevant to grad students are the Gerald Carrothers Graduate Scholarship (due March 1, 2012) and the Susan Cumming 2012 Scholarship (due March 1, 2012).
2) Upcoming OPPI events include the Toronto District Winter Social (Nov 24) and the Southwest District Holiday Dinner (Dec 6) in London. Check the OPPI Events page for more details.
3) The CAPS (Canadian Association of Planning Students) 2012 Conference is being held in Vancouver from Feb 2-4, hosted by Simon Fraser University. Be sure to check out http://caps-aceau.org/vancouver-2012/ – this is a great opportunity to present your research (due Dec 18)!
A number of events are coming up:
1. Ever wondered how far a paper airplane would fly in EV3? Well you aren’t alone! This Tuesday we will put that to the test.
At 3:30pm bring your best paper airplane (extra points for sweet designs! Not actually but put some effort in people!) and meet us on the stairs between the 3rd and 4th floors.
2. The AGP is going bowling!
When: Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011
Time: 7-8pm
Where: WATERLOO BOWLING LANES – 14 Princss Street West, Uptown Waterloo
Price: $10(ish) a person

3. If you are interested in joining intramurals for winter term,
please email Rylan (r9graham@uwaterloo.ca) and tell him which sports
you’d like the AGP to sign up for.
4. The AGP t-shirt design competition has extended it’s deadline to
Thursday November 24th. If you have an idea for a t-shirt, we
encourage you to submit a design.
5. The EV3 Grand Opening will be celebrated this week with a lecture
by Jay Ingram on Thursday

Hello everyone, just a few announcements to make about some upcoming events:
1. AGP trivia starts tonight (Tuesday, Sept 20th) at Grad House around 7:30pm.
2. On Tuesday the 20th at 3:30, we will be hosting a Question and
Answer panel for first year-students in EV3 4268. If you have any
questions that you’re too embarrassed to ask, or unsure of who to ask
– then this is the event for you! Four upper-year students will be
there to help you sort out anything that’s been on your mind.
3. The AGP is going to Oktoberfest on Saturday October 15th at the
Waterloo Rec Centre (aka Ruedesheimer Garten). Tickets are $20. Please
buy your own ticket here:

4. The AGP September Social event will be Yuk Yuk’s Amateur Night on
September 29th. Tickets are only $8.25 each, purchased at the door,
and doors open at 7pm. Yuk Yuk’s is located in downtown Kitchener at 1
King Street West.
5. The elections for the 2012 AGP will be held on October 24th in EV3
4412 after PLAN 700.
Its a busy week for new and returning students so here is some information that should help clam everyone’s nerves.
